At Carpe Diem we are so excited to receive recognition from the Small Business Revolution, which is on a mission to highlight 100 locally owned businesses around the country through photo and video essays! To celebrate, we talked with a Carpe Diem client to learn what supporting a small business means to her.

Greta Boers became a Carpe Diem client about a year and a half ago. Greta explained she decided to use Carpe Diem after hearing about Carpe Diem’s reputation in the community. “I was glad to sign up for their services,” she said. “The fact that it’s a small business run by women just makes me happier with the decision.”

Greta has noticed Carpe Diem’s excellent quality of work, which she explained is consistent week to week. “Their camaraderie and professionalism feels good in my house. The office staff are very, very prompt and unfailingly gracious; it’s always nice to correspond with them. They really work with you, accommodating special requests and schedule changes as they are able,” she said.

Carpe Diem has several initiatives to give back to the community, including providing dignifying work to employees and supporting sustainability. Greta has noticed a team camaraderie, from the cleaning team to the staff, which creates a personalized touch. “That’s what makes me happiest about using Carpe Diem to clean my house—it’s clear that there is a great deal of respect among the staff,” she said. “I also do have a sense that everyone is accorded the dignity that everyone, each of us, is due as human beings.”

Additionally, Greta enjoys the freshness of a clean house, and she knows great care goes into cleaning her home. She said Carpe Diem’s services allow her time for other joyful activities, including gardening and reading. “I have a really good balance of work and leisure because I can rely on Carpe Diem to take care of so many chores for me,” Greta said. “I also notice that I’m proud of the house when people come over, I’m very confident that it is pleasant and nice for my guests.”

As for the Small Business Revolution recognition, Greta said she’s proud to support Carpe Diem, particularly because it’s owned and run by women. In fact, Greta said she has recommended Carpe Diem’s services to several friends because of the thoroughness, reliability, and consistency of service she has experienced. “The dignity and respect that is evident in how the staff interacts with one another. I get satisfaction and real joy from walking into a fresh, clean house.”
