If you’ve read our blog or keep up with us on social media you’ll have seen that Carpe Diem Cleaning will be featured in a photo essay by the Small Business Revolution this September. We are so excited to have this honor! To celebrate, we’re doing a blog series on what this recognition means to us and to our community.
This week, we spoke with Daly Orsini, an employee at Carpe Diem, to learn how working at a community-supported small business has impacted her life.
Daly began working at Carpe Diem about a year and a half ago. She said working as a Branch Manager has done a lot for her. “I think it has been a great opportunity for me to learn new skills,” Daly said. “It’s a wonderful work family here.”
A typical day for Daly includes contacting clients, managing cleaning teams, and setting up cleaning consultations. Daly mentioned the positive work environment, as well as the support of a small business, motivates her to come to work each day. “I love the atmosphere here. Everybody works to help everybody out,” she said.
As for the Small Business Revolution recognition, Daly said she was delighted to initially hear the news. “It’s kind of a big thank you for everything we do,” she said. “We believe that we work really hard here at Carpe Diem, and it’s good to be recognized for this effort.”
Daly said she’s looking forward to seeing the photo essay highlighting Carpe Diem’s work both inside and outside of the office. “It’s just wonderful that we can get a glimpse of our hard work; it’s being shared and it’s being recognized. It’s just an awesome feeling,” she said.
Working at Carpe Diem has helped her see the impact a small business can have on communities. “I think it’s a wonderful feeling to be able to help our clients and our employees at the same time,” she said. “Carpe Diem seems to promote the community and to enrich people’s lives. It’s good to be here and to be a part of this,” she said.
