Seizing a Greener Future: Carpe Diem Cleaning Sponsors Wildflower Project

Here at Carpe Diem Cleaning, we believe there’s nothing quite like the joy of gazing upon a field of wildflowers to remind us of the beauty in the world. Today, we’re beyond thrilled to share with our vibrant community that in celebration of thirty strong years in business, we’re seizing the day in the most beautiful way possible—by sponsoring a stunning wildflower area right here in the heart of North Carolina!

North Carolina's DOT Wildflower Project

The North Carolina Department of Transportation initiated the Wildflower Program in 1985 as a component of its highway beautification projects. This program entails installing and maintaining wildflower beds across the state, a task undertaken by the Roadside Environmental personnel stationed in each of the fourteen highway divisions. Travelers and residents alike have the opportunity to enjoy these vibrant displays, often marked by the recognizable NCDOT wildflower signs, serving as a reminder of the state’s commitment to environmental beauty and biodiversity.

Carpe Diem Cleaning’s sponsored wildflower area, located off 147 South near Chapel Hill Street, will feature a beautiful display of sunflowers, supporting the state’s dedication to natural beauty and roadside improvement. Planted to bloom alongside nature’s cycle, the wildflowers are set to bloom in late May and again late this summer.

A Dream Rooted in Teamwork

Wendy Clark, owner of Carpe Diem Cleaning, expressed her enthusiasm for the project, “This has always been a dream of mine. One of the amazing leaders at Carpe Diem Cleaning, Madeline Bailey, suggested this as a way to celebrate thirty years in business. It couldn’t have been more perfect. Having people on your team who truly understand and support you is such a special gift.”

Madeline and Julie, from the Carpe Diem Cleaning team, were honored to receive a tour of the area earlier this week from Derek Smith of the N.C. Department of Transportation. Derek shared, “We are always so appreciative of businesses that choose to invest in this type of project. We love working with y’all.”

His words echo our shared sentiment of appreciation and zeal for collective endeavors that bloom into something magical. He also gave us seeds to take back to the office and pot, we can’t wait to see our seeds and this wildflower area bloom this season!

Sustainability, Beauty & Community

At Carpe Diem Cleaning, we celebrate beauty, community, and sustainability for our planet. This wildflower initiative is our way of embracing nature and highlighting local flora and pollinators’ crucial role in maintaining thriving ecosystems.

We encourage our clients to take time to step out and enjoy the flowers this summer while we clean your homes! If you’re interested in becoming a client of Carpe Diem Cleaning, you can request a quote online today.
